Massive empty space, and missing pinned messages

KarrotKake · 11/06/2022 07:53

Since the replatforming, I don't get any "sticky messages". Just half a dozen blank lines at the top of the page. Read on an android phone, but with Chrome browser. See attached picture.

Also, in the past few days, I'm only getting a tiny patch of screen readable on some pages. There is a massive white bit at the bottom half of my screen. Picture also attached.

Are these known about? I anything planed to resolve tem?

Hi @KarrotKake I'm trying to recreate this on Android and Chrome but I'm not having the same issue. Are you on a tablet or phone? Can we also check if it's possible you've got an ad blocker installed?

PAFMO · 11/06/2022 17:26

Adding my screenshot of it.
I just presumed It's how it is now and scroll down!

I'm on a phone with no ad blocker @YetAnotherBeckyMumsnet

The missing "stickies" is permanent.
The half a blank screen is temperamental....

This happens to me too, both issues.

Me too. Massive white space at the top, where an ad would be (I use an adblocker, not going to apologise for that given how massive and intrusive the ads on MN are) and then 4 white/blue/white/blue blank spaces before the posts start. Means you have to scroll to see anything at all, which is annoying, and then the posts are spaced so far apart on this new platform that you often only see one or two before you have to scroll. I use Chrome on a Chromebook.

Hello again - If you choose to reject cookie consent the pinned threads will always show as blank. Could this be the cause?

KarrotKake · 13/06/2022 13:48

Doubt it, I usually accept all cookies, but will reset at home tonight, and see what happens.

Ooohh, @YetAnotherBeckyMumsnet I cleared cookies, and have got the stickies back! I've not had to agree to anything new (yet!). Must have declined at some point.
Thank you

And, they have gone again!
I've had no cookie request to accept or reject.

I've not had them for a few days either, just one day they were gone and that's that. No ad blockers or anything and I'm on a Chromebook.

Hi @KarrotKake and @stripesorspotsorwhat please check your Cookie settings on Chrome and check that you have allowed Cookies for Mumsnet.
Info on how to do that is here. Let us know how you get on.
