Why am I being asked for my email address?

I have just got a popup asking me to submit my email address to participate in a MN test.

Is this originating from MN?

If it is why is it asking for my email address when MN should be able to do an internal generated message from my screen name?

TBH if its MN, the timing is reflecting poorly designed testing protocol management by the project manager.

ughk stupid search function means I can't find the thread. Someone posted that they have had an email that looks well dodge. About taking part in a survey.

Hi, we've taken this down now but it was a genuine recruitment drive to test our new refresh function. Apologies if it alarmed you.

The email was also genuine, we're using a tool called Maze to test the design, as explained in the original email. The users who received the email had filled out the pop-up survey and given their email addresses to us to take part in the testing.

It did not cause alarm, I was more suprised imo was a poorly timed launch. And although since the upgrade I nolonger see the pined threads, i would have thought that a thread would be a better method to recruit.
