Refresh?

I understood from MNHQ that the refresh functionality would be restored.
Is there any news on this.

Hi, the old 'refresh' button was just a refresh of the page which can be achieved by refreshing the browser, so we're not building it exactly as it was but we are working on a replacement for it.

We've understood that users want to refresh to see if there have been updates on the thread while they are reading it. So we're working on a new feature to replace 'refresh' that will let you know how many new posts have been added while you've been reading and will allow you to load them in and continue reading.

I hope that sounds useful to you! We're currently testing the designs so if you'd like to be involved in that let me know and we can arrange a testing session with you? Thanks!

Refreshing the browser/page doesn't always work. If I have a MN tab open and don't use it for a while it 'forgets' everything and doesn't refresh or takes so long I've gone to sleep, or I give up and open an entirely new MN page.

The site is slow.

I don't get this with other websites I keep open (gmail, FB, strava) - they just refresh themselves. Also, because refresh is so clunky and because I choose to display 100 messages (because the search function stinks) it's really cumbersome to scroll up to the top.

Oh and the images on the desktop site are really small.

I'll still use the site, but it's pretty frustrating when you just want 2 mins downtime from work and you spent 1min55 getting back to where you were before.
