Love Island Thread gone poof!

The Love Island thread on Telly Addicts has disappeared and there's no trace of it. Not showing on my list of I'm On with any deletion message and apparently I am not the only one.

Will it be reinstated or do we need to start a new one?

Could it possibly have been started by a user who has asked all their posts to be removed?

Mumsnet only typically do this in extreme circumstances these days. I'd guess the OP possibly was one of the posters doxxed in yesterday's data breach.

The message on the vanished thread was "this thread has been withdrawn" and nothing else. Not "at OP's request" or "because it's not in the spirit of Mumsnet" or any of the other deletion messages we usually see on troll threads or bunfight threads.

So - please tell us why it has gone? A thread like that does not really belong to the OP, it's a community thread for everyone to contribute to as an equal.

IF (and it's only an if) the op wanted to disappear from MN because of privacy worries then just their posts could have been deleted.

The rest of us want the thread back please! Could you kindly comment?

I've never previously seen that bald "this thread has been withdrawn" message in 15ish years on Mumsnet.

I can't see why it needed to be zapped - but if there were posts which crossed the line, couldn't they have gone, rather than the whole thread.

And we know, from MN past and what was done to protect Riven's identity, that you don't need to pull a whole thread even when there is an extremely high-profile outing
