MN is known as a place where women in abusive relationships can come for support. There are lots of MRAs using the current case in the US as an excuse to make broad accusations against women. There are numerous DV charities who have commented on the appalling impact this 'commentary' is having and the damage it is doing in perpetuating lies about abuse.
There is a concerted disinformation campaign around VAWG; DV statistics, etc. It's, as DV charities have pointed out, retraumatising and triggering lots of women.
There are lots of places online where MRAs and abuse apologists can spout their bile. It would be nice if MN wasn't one of those places. I can see how it would be impossible to monitor the threads since the abuse apologists are relentless, but perhaps MNHQ could just delete them all, as happens with threads that mention certain other ongoing cases? Or, at least, every thread could have a pinned post from a DV charity?
Posters are entitled to their own opinions but they're not entitled to their own facts; and MN doesn't have to give them a platform. MN is a place where abused women come for support and advice, not to be triggered and retraumatised.
