New site page refreshing when typing a reply

I’m getting really irritated and end up giving up because the page often refreshes when I’m typing a reply. Will this be fixed or shall I just give up with MN?

I've been getting that too. It's so frustrating to type out a reply and see it disappear before you can post it.

Glad it’s not just me - have just tried unsuccessfully to post something, and thought I was doing something wrong!!

MandyMotherOfBrian · 12/06/2022 18:34

I asked this days ago and didn’t get a reply….

GreenClock · 12/06/2022 20:05

This has happened to me today.

Happened to me about ten minutes ago

This happened to me yesterday. Also noticed the page refreshing midway through reading busy pages.

PartyGoose · 13/06/2022 07:43

Oh god this is so frustrating. You also can't leave pages open and come back to them because they refresh themselves - so I can't load a couple of threads up before going into the tube and losing internet anymore! When I go to read them, they're trying to reload but can't because I'm under ground.

This is all since the update 😡 And I imagine MNHQ will be along to insist it's not happening and ask for screenshots and to know what device/browser I'm using, if they do anything at all Hmm

Other sites like have code in them to stop half-written posts from being lost - including that if you do anything like click a link when you had already started typing something, you'd get an "are you sure you want to do this? Text will be lost." warning message. On mumsnet so many posts get lost either if I lose signal for a bit while typing, or if the page display jumps and I accidentally tap on an advert when attempting to scroll up to look again at the post I am replying to.

Cuckoo48 · 13/06/2022 07:58

Yes, I have lost replies to this in recent days.

Jeeez, they can't handle the site they've currently got - don't be asking for additional stuff 😂 the place would implode.

MayDaze · 13/06/2022 08:05

The site is an absolute shambles.

This makes me howl, I think their IT people use the "what browser/device" question interchangeably with "have you tried switching it off and on again?"
