Page expiry and images

I have run into a problem with pages expiring meaning you can click on images and see them full size. I get asked if I want to refresh the page, but if I do that I lose my place.

On a full thread this means, given the way I read, I have no chance of seeing the images after about halfway down.

Is this supposed to happen? I find it incredibly unuser-friendly.

This happens to me as well. It is very frustrating, especially when it refreshes and it doesn't take you back to your bookmarks.
