Quote function not working on app

Hi @MNHQ

This problem is back again.

Quoted posts on app are being blended in with existing quote, and cutting of the text at the end.

Other posts are taking out line breaks (so posts are one long block of text, really hard to read).

Only happening this morning, having been fixed.

IOS, App. Logged out & in, persists. I'll try & do screenshots when I can

What's the point in having a Site Stuff section if you don't update us, and don't fix it, days later.

There's also piles of outstanding issues since the platform change, no further mention of those. Really poor.

Any chance of a reply? I really think I'll end up leaving. The app is a nightmare, can't read anything, it's all in long blocks of text. Quoted posts are cut off

The mobile browser is unnavigable. Endless huge ads blocking posts, requiring huge amounts of scrolling.

How is if possible that you still can't properly sort your stuff out? And why no communication with your users? (Who are your product basically).

It's crazy. If you quote anyone then your post starts immediate after theirs finishes and it's not clear at all when one starts and another finishes.

It used to be quite obvious when people quoted. Now you are at risk of quoting someone's outrageous post and it looks like you have posted it!

And nearly every post is chopped off at the end! What's that about?

We're aware of formatting issues which are happening across the site at the moment and are working hard behind the scenes to fix this asap.

We really do know how frustrating it is, so thank you for your patience and bearing with us while we get it sorted.

I appreciate that @KimMumsnet but it's been two days & no update / resolution.

Why don't you at least post updates to the different platforms letting users know?

The whole thing is so unprofessional.

Could you perhaps have pinned threads with updates for each of the different platforms?

This, along with the formatting marks instead of actual formatting makes the iOS app almost unusable

Posters have been asking for proper updates via pinned posts since the new platform launch.

MN reply sporadically to threads like this & then nothing ... no general update or sharing of issues. It's so bad.

You effectively cannot use the quote function!!!
All responses get cut off at the end!!!

I've also written on another thread that Mumsnet isn't working properly since I've done the update. It's stopped throwing me off the app now, but I'm reading replies on different threads I'm on & you can't see all what people have written as it cuts their replies off if that makes sense

This is still happening for me (iPhone 12 pro, latest version of the app). It's making the site pretty much unusable on the app, with huge walls of text and cut off texts after quotes. Could you not just at least turn off the quote function until it's fixed?

Yes I think this new system makes it more difficult to read

Old system was so much clearer and easier to read

So glad someone has posted about this issue as I came here to mention it.
The new app/format is just awful. The old one worked so much better so I don't understand why they had to switch to such a flawed version.

App pretty hopeless now, I've quoted other posts and then had none of my addition shown. When it has shown it cuts off mid-word. And so unhelpful not having a new line or space between the quote and the new text.
