Problem with using italics

Tagliatellme · 25/04/2022 10:09

Posted this on another long thread, but thought it might get lost. See attached image which is what I see when I press 'preview' after using the italics function. Also, if I press return to start a new line after using italics, nothing happens. The only way to move to a new line is to put a space after the italics section and then press return.

And one other thing - it's there a way to check any attached image in preview mode? I'd like to check that I've attached the correct image before posting. And of course the image, when it is posted, will be all long and thin for some reason.

Actually there's a problem with using return generally. If you press return without a space (so for example if you are listing something), nothing happens. The cursor stays where it is. If you press multiple times, the cursor still stays where it is, but your post will have acres of empty lines when it posts. The only way to get return to work is to put a space after a final word or if you put a full stop. Then pressing return will take you to the next line. Does that make sense?

This is still happening. I just tried to do a return after a word (l was writing a list). The cursor stayed at the end of the word and wouldn't move, but each return made a blank line below. Here's what happens:

I wrote this and then pressed return a few times when the cursor was at the end of the last word (week). If there's no punctuation at the end of a wide, you can't use 'return' to move down a line. Any chance of looking into this? I didn't get a reply last week

See, this is even stranger. The preview showed multiple blank lines, the post doesn't, this is what the preview looks like (screenshot attached)

There's definitely a bug here. Post 2 had multiple blank lines on the preview which didn't show up on posting. Post 3 had multiple blank lines in the preview but they stayed when I posted. I didn't do anything different either time.

Hi, sorry for the delayed response on this, we've had a lot of messages to catch up on! Can you send me the text you are trying to submit in your previews? Are you copying it over from another place?

Tagliatellme · 05/05/2022 10:16

Sorry Katie, I can't send you the text, my post was almost a week ago, so I don't have it now. I wasn't copying anything though.

The issues still remain with using a return after a word. So unless you put punctuation or a space after a word, the cursor will not move. If I was typing a list for example, the cursor stays at the end of the word, however many times I press return. Multiple blank lines are created below the text, but the cursor dues not move to the next line as it should.

hi just testing this out

making
a
list

My cursor does move when I press enter - I’m using safari on an iPhone 11 and I’ve tested it on my Chrome browser in a preview too.

Please you tell me what device and browser you are using to access the website so I can try to recreate the problem on my side?

Thanks,

Katie
