PBP - Why does it take so long??

Hi Mumsnet Admins,

Can you tell me why it takes so long for you to remove threads from PBP? I'm using the one called "To be put off man for this reason?"

There were over 400 posts on that thread before it got zapped. It's really frustrating when a poster and their posts look genuine only to find out that it gets zapped due to the OP being a previously banned poster.

I'd love to know what the trigger point is on those sorts of threads for them to get zapped.

It depends on posters reporting it. MNHQ don't monitor every thread.

That was one was visible from outer space. I'm suprised it took so long as well.

I've reported another thread twice that has a fake vibe/style going on, but it's being left to stand. I guess MNHQ has its reasons. Fortunately posters aren't flocking to it any more because the OP's not giving out. Too busy writing copy, probably.

@LookItsMeAgain

As above, they can only really zap a PBP/troll if they are notified by someone who suspects a troll/fake. I suspected that thread you referred to was fake - and that is why I only posted ONE post and said 'oh come of it FGS. As IF ANYONE would stay with a man like this. DO behave!' I thought it may be fake but couldn't say, as you get a bollocking for 'trollhunting.'

I don't 'get' why this poster - or any poster actually - makes up an utter pack of lies about something that never happened, and then keeps retuning to the thread with lengthy and detailed 'updates.' WHY? Confused What on earth do they get from it? They must be very VERY bored.

I also only post one short post on threads where a poster puts a goady/click baity post, and then doesn't return to the thread. They post a 1000-word 'first post' then don't return. WTF? Who does that? Just submitting a massive first post and then just logging out and fucking off and not staying for at least half an hour to read and respond to replies, seems really ODD.

You need to a report. There are no moderators here.

I'm aware. It's just why did it need to get to nearly 50% of the thread capacity (there was over 400 messages on it) before it got zapped?

It does seem odd. I am sure someone would have reported it before then. However, I know sometimes people report threads, and mumsnet are not sure enough that it's fake/a troll/a PBP, so they let it run for awhile whilst they investigate properly. So it can take 1-2 days sometimes.
