Hiding topics has become fairly confusing, and I wanted to flag it for you.
In my desktop version, there's no clear list of hidden topics. You can "manage hidden topics," but it's all listed together, with no colour differentiation between those hidden and those on the list.
There are some that I know that I hid yesterday but were still on the list.
However, today, once you click a topic, it takes it off the list, which means there's no option to unhide it. It's hidden forever. When you put its direct name in the toolbar, nothing shows up.
For instance, I did this with "adoption" just to see what would happen, and now when I try to "manage my hidden topics" and either scroll through or type "adoption," nothing shows up.
Essentially, at the moment, when something is hidden, it's hidden forever. That might be great for some topics. But at times you might want to reverse a topic hide. For instance, if you've just had a bereavement, you might want to hide the bereavement board for now but come back to it in a few weeks.
Not sure if this is intentional or not. If so, not a great call; if not, wanted to flag it.
PS: I also wanted to say that the new idea that hiding something from active means the whole board is hidden (above and beyond the ability to un-hide) isn't a great call. There are some boards that I don't want popping up on my active list I might not want to be surprised by pregnancy loss threads on trending when I'm just after some delightful parking drama after a long and hard day but I might want to seek out on my own. It's clearly a choice to make hidden all-or-nothing (hide from active and block the board entirely, or see both), but I'd like to throw a hat in the ring to reconsider that choice.
