I miss today/yesterday in the time stamp on posts

It made everything seem a lot more current. I have to look twice now to see if a thread stated today or a few days/weeks ago!

This was a great feature on the old site so how is removing it an improvement?

Me too. Otherwise it's a lot harder to figure out how current a thread is.

I agree, especially for longer running threads, it was easy to see the newest posts from today/yesterday ... now its much harder to see if the thread is still running because it just has the dates
