Ad madness - what's going on?

The whole look of MN has changed for me. There are suddenly lots of ads around the edges of the screen, and many of the threads have a really massive ad that fills about half the screen and makes it impossible to read the first post - even when scrolling up and down, some of the first post is hidden by the huge ad. MN is more or less unusable for me at the moment ... what's happening? I'm on a laptop, not on my phone.

Same for me. It says to scroll down for content, but misses out the top of the thread.

I'm another who is finding giant adverts are blocking the first post on threads. Scrolling down, which should reveal the first post, has no effect. I'm using Windows 11 and Microsoft Edge to access the site.

I’ve spent all week waiting over a minute for pages to download properly - the ads not downloading at all

If I’d not been watching a couple of threads i’d ve given up this week

@MNHQ Any chance you can get rid of the North Face ad...I can't even see the OPs OP...

And for me @MNHQ, the North Face ad is rendering the site unusable, please sort!

It's happening again - it was also happening again yesterday, or the night before. It seems to come back late at night, and then be all right again the next day. What on earth is going on? It's really tedious.

The entire site is now totally unusable for me - huge ads blocking every first post.

Yep - just come to see if anyone else is having the same problem. I've been having issues on the mobile site for ages with the massive ads which either block the whole screen or crash the page, but this is the first time I've had an issue on my laptop (Chrome on MAC OS).

Same for me! On iPad and safari, it’s awful.

Me too. Can’t use iPad as the bloody North Face advert takes over the whole screen. Don’t know how to get rid of it so have to close the tab every time but then it comes back straight away.

This is happening for me too. I cannot see any OPs because covered in huge mountain warehouse ad.

I’m getting this too, it’s really annoying! I don’t usually mind adverts, but not ones that completely stop you being able to see or use what’s on the website.

Same here. I've got a huge page takeover ad which isn't displaying properly, and is also covering most of the Active topics -- pic hopefully attached.

Well this is fucking ridiculous. I moved browsers and it eventually caught up with me... so now I'm fucked...

@MNHQ are you addressing this? First post is obliterated by large ads and instructions to rotate screen. On iPad, safari

I’ve also had the issue with clicking on a thread and being taken elsewhere.

Looks like people have been flagging these issues for over a week and I can’t see a response from you?

Same for me using a Mac/Safari. Giant North Face ad covering the screen. I can’t even read the OP

Certainly on mine, I can't even click on the ad, so North Face probably aren't delighted either.

There is another thread on this issue with 359 complaints and just one measly message from @MNHQ saying to clear cookies which doesn’t work.

And that message from @MNHQ was on the 11th April!
