Private message problem

I am trying to reply to a message and I keep getting this when I try to send it.

I've cleared my cookies, and changed browsers to no avail.... Any ideas?

Hi @MrsHamlet, sorry to hear you're having problems sending PMs. Is it just today that this has been happening? If you could you please give us some details about which device you're using and which version of the site, we'll try to work out what's going wrong.

I've tried on chrome and edge on a laptop and safari on mobile, and it's been like it a couple of days.

Could you temporarily scrap the 'reply' and start a new message to this poster with a fresh subject line? Let us know how it goes.

That's worked - bit annoying though as it's a very long message I need to reply in detail to.
