Having problems hiding threads

I’m struggling to cope at the moment due to my fears around the Russian invasion and threat of nuclear war. I’ve seen yet another post about what will happen if a bomb hits and I’ve tried 3 times to hide it and it’s still coming up. Is this function not working? I’m selecting hide thread and then refreshing my browser but it comes up every single time.

I have just tried to hide the same thread and have the same issue.

I have managed to hide topics in chat tonight re the war. I have not seen thread you are referring to but in talk preferences I have now moved AIBU and chat to excluded to try and stop these coming up but its annoying as they are going in lots of categories. Chat used to be a lovely category. Wish they would just make a separate section for war related ones and move them over or at least shift them all to aibu so can just hide that section. I am struggling with them too and also going through cancer treatment and used to go on MN to chat to people to relax now its just constant war, war, war threads including on trending so not exactly relaxing.

Me too with the vibrator thread.

Sorry I just mean I don not what to see that thread over and over again when I have tried to hide it multiple times.

Same here for a while, also ones I've hid before in my watching or I'm on have now popped back up from months ago. Weird..

Sorry to hear you’re going through this. Yes I come on here to relax too. I think I’m going to have to avoid the site for a while. I wish all the war related threads would be kept separate from the others and not show up in the list of trending threads. I know that many other people are really worried about this issue and these threads will be upsetting for them too. Even reading the thread titles is enough to add to the stress.

When I hide threads that are subsequently deleted I always get them back in my "I'm on" feed

Hello everyone. Sorry this function isn't working, especially as many posters are finding some threads upsetting. We'll alert our tech team and figure out what's going on here. In the mean time, please try logging out and then in again, and clearing browser cookies.

It's been broken for a few days. I've just hidden another thread and it's still in active conversations after logging out and back in again.

Unfortunately hiding threads doesn't stop them from showing up in the Trending Now box.
