Hiding whole topics

I can't see how I can hide entire topics, only individual threads, so is there a way to do it? For instance I am too old to give /need advice or have any overlapping interest in the conception topic. Same for secondary schools.

You have to do it under preferences on the desk top site. You can't do it on the mobile site.

Thank you, didn't cross my mind to fire up the laptop for this.
