Search says there are no posts by someone today when I know there are!

How is anyone meant to do stalking around this place if you say they have no posts??

I know they have got posts because I was talking to them.

I know I typed it right because if I search for yesterday AND today it brings up posts.

go on, tell us who it is!
Have just tried it using your name and it seemed to work ok

I am not hugely techy but I think this could be if it's a very recent post that the archive hasn't "indexed" it yet iwkwim - I think it takes a few minutes to do this.

I'll check with His Techliness though.

Hi, yes it can fall behind a bit. But it's up to date now. Was there something specific you think it's not finding? Or would that reveal too much of your stalking plot?

You should be able to search on just a name. On the search page put the name in the "find messages by" box. Or did you mean something else?

Yup, that is the way I do it was going to try to do it just this one time, not having done it before...

there should be a way for us that are bein stalked to hide tho......

Funnily enough I was just going to ask the same thing. Ive been searching someone I hadn't seen around for a while and it came up with no posts, then I accidentally came across a thread where they had posted a few days ago. I tried the search again but still no results?

I have noticed it too recently - I searched on Onlyjoking to catch up on how she is doing - and it came up with a couple of posts in one thread - but when I read it there were actually quite a few more that search had not found - odd. I am sure I have noticed it a few times over the last few weeks.

I think it may currently be "notreallyherehunker" or summat similar

Maybe mumsnet know who all the stalkers are and they blocked us...that'll be it, ruined my fun so they have.

One thing to bear in mind is it won't search across name changes. So you don't get messages posted under e.g. christmas names unless you search for that specific nickname. ScruffyTeddy if you have an example of a particular search that doesn't work but should, please drop me a line and we'll take a look at it. Ta.

This has happened to me over the last couple of days.

I'm searching under my own name and it's not bringing up all my messages/threads I posted on.

For example, I have posted twice on the Relationships board today. One thread is 'searchable', the other is not. Also, I have posted a few times on one thread and it's not showing up at all.

I need to remember what I have said!
