Sepsis

I searched for a thread on sepsis and noticed most of them despite being relevant are old now. It’s such an important topic I thought I’d start a new one.
I had sepsis 5 years ago after suffering a uti which I thought was better after I became asymptomatic. The infection must have still been brewing. Out of the blue I began shivering uncontrollably. I then noticed a mottled blue rash on my legs and started wretching.I also had the sense of doom people describe. The interesting thing about this feeling was a sense of calm came over me as if I knew this was extremely serious although I had no fear of dying.
My DH rushed me to A/E where thankfully I was started on IV fluids and antibiotics immediately.I was kept in for three days them discharged. I feel fortunate that it never went further although I do still suffer anxiety when I have any form of infection. I urge everyone to become aware of the symptoms of sepsis in both adults and children as early intervention saves lives.
