I clear cookies on my phone often as use a lot of Cashback sites.
When I come back to read mumsnet I then get the pop us saying “we are all short on time, so log in or register”. Absolutely fine to do this, but when you click on login from that pop up it firstly lands on the register page so you have to click on the login tab, but once logged in it doesn’t take you to the page you had been reading.
I know it’s a first world issue and it happens as I clear cookies, but I feel it’s actually bad site design. There shouldn’t be a reason to big give me the login page tab directly from the short on time pop-up, and then not to leave me at the page I had been on just before the pop up appeared.
Whilst I am feeding back, what does “we are all short on time” actually mean? It seems a bit of an odd thing to write. Maybe something better “your experience will be better by logging or registering” or even “if you’d like to read more you need to log in or register”, just makes a heck of a lot more sense than what you’re currently leading with.
