No notifications and hidden threads showing back up

I access MN on the app as I'm not a fan of the desktop version however I NEVER get notifications when someone @'s me. I've checked and my push notifications are definitely on for when someone mentions me in a comment however nothing ever shows up on my phone.

Also, every two weeks or so, threads that I've hidden will appear on my 'I'm on' page and I'll have to hide them all over again. It's so annoying as I've hidden LOADS. I just don't really understand why the app seems to be more difficult than using MN on a desktop. Could someone let me know if this also happens to them?
