Can't upload a photo

If you're new that'll be why. You have to be a member for a few days first. I'm not sure why

Are you using an iPhone as your camera? I had this problem too - I discovered that to be able to upload a photo, I first had to move it from my photo library onto my desktop (sorry - using my laptop, obviously), and only then would it insert. By moving it on to the desktop it changes it to the kind of format that Mumsnet will accept.

In the photo library, Apple/iphone photos are HEIC format (no clue what that means) but moving them on to the desktop changes them into JPEGs. Just to be clear.

Thanks for the suggestions. I always put photos, yes, iPhone, to desktop, and MN happily uploaded one only a few days ago , but said the file size was too big for this one.
