Deleted thread for what reason?

The thread was full of information about geopolitical areas and cultural backgrounds. Yes the OP was being corrected but why randomly delete threads like this that people are contributing to in good faith? It seems to happen a lot these days.

I imagine because despite what people were saying later on, it was fairly obviously an 'I'm not racist but" OP.
