Where did my account go?

dropitlikeitsloth · 10/11/2021 08:50

I went to my ‘Watching’ this morning for a browse and went to respond to a topic and I was logged out. No worries I thought and went to log in. It wouldn’t log me in and said there was no account registered with my email address. I tried a few times in case there was a mistake.

I checked my email, no emails with any explanation. I even tried reregistering with that email but strangely it said this email was already in use!

I’ve had to register with a brand new account but of course I’ve lost all my previous history and watches etc. I even tried to choose the same username and was told I couldn’t as it was already in use.

Does anyone have any idea? No one else would have logged in and deleted my account. Really odd! I’m mean I’m here again now but I’m just confused BlushSmile

You'll need to contact mnhq. Sounds like they logged you out for some reason. They'll tell you only when you contact them.

Eltonsglasses · 10/11/2021 09:14

It's happened to me a few times when I have had a temporary ban?

dropitlikeitsloth · 10/11/2021 09:16

I’ve just found a thread I was actively posting on and old me is still there not deleted not banned Blush Any ideas?

If you're banned, your posts will still be there. I was trying not to mention banning or suspension but it sounds like it's the case.

FreeBritnee · 10/11/2021 09:19

They’ll have banned you. Have you had many deletions?

Userguaranteed · 10/11/2021 09:19

Sometimes it takes one deletion, not many, to get a suspension or temporary ban. Depends what you said.

Eltonsglasses · 10/11/2021 09:20

Nothing gets removed if you get a ban it will still show. The only way to find out is to email them and ask though.

dropitlikeitsloth · 10/11/2021 09:31

Thanks both, surely they don’t just kick you out without any reason given? I’ll message and see I mean I have this account now but would be nice to have my old one back.

No I’ve been on the site at least a year if not longer. One of my posts yesterday about that horse kicking woman was hidden (along with many other posters saying same) but that is my only deleted/hidden post. Seems a bit harsh!!

Yeah they will only tell you if you ask

Userguaranteed · 10/11/2021 09:37

Yes they can, I'm afraid. If you contact them, they'll tell you the reason. Otherwise, they won't.

They can reinstate your account after you've had a chat with them, but it depends. You can email them and go from there.

HeartsAndClubs · 10/11/2021 09:40

You will have been banned/suspended. If they haven’t contacted you to tell you it’s a suspension then sadly it’s likely a permanent ban.

Either way, setting up a new account isn’t going to do you any favours, and that one will be banned as wel as well as this thread deleted.

Eltonsglasses · 10/11/2021 09:40

Also, if it is a ban I would expect to see this account go the same way

Userguaranteed · 10/11/2021 09:43

This isn't true in my experience.

Me neither. I have had a few temporary bans and I have never been contacted.

dropitlikeitsloth · 10/11/2021 09:47

A permanent ban for one deleted post, in a year? That’s quite harsh considering I’ve seen people repeatedly say a lot worse. Well I set this account up thinking it was a site glitch or a system error, I’ll see what they say.

It's not always about delete posts. I have had deletions but they look at your overall posting history so because I have been a bit cunty on occasion (usually when I'm trying to explain something but too angry to do it properly) and it all counts towards their decision. Still it may not even be that, it might just be an error. Email and ask.

Userguaranteed · 10/11/2021 09:51

Yes, me too.

I was suspended (that's the term they gave me when I contacted them) twice and both times were misunderstandings. They didn't contact me till I did and after a chat, my account was reinstated immediately - both times.

Also, I only had one post deletion each time. One of them was reinstated after I was let back in.

I did think it was bizarre to have been logged out without any warning but it's their site. They can do what they want. I know a few posters who've received warnings first.

Yeah I said the same thing. Their suspension criteria sometimes boggles the mind.
