I see this thread has now moved on to thread 3.

As this is an ongoing trial I am interested in why this thread is allowed to stand when so many others about current court cases are not.

Can you re-explain the rules MNHQ?

Have reported this as I also want to know.

Same, the speculation is pretty awful and not appropriate in the context of an ongoing court case.

It's essentially rubbernecking and griefvulturing too.

I wonder if HQ have seen this?

There’s so much contempt of court on those threads that I have a genuine concern the defence will bring up the issue in court and it may threaten the integrity of the trial. I’ve seen adverse publicity during a trial brought up several times in court. It’s incredibly serious.

I’m very shocked that nobody on MN appears to have any training in contempt law.

I hid the threads because I thought them incredibly ill-judged.

I agree that MNHQ should have a good look at them.

Having said that, there is a lot of detail already in the mainstream media.

Hello @A580Hojas thanks for raising this. You're right in saying that we're pretty cautious with threads about live cases and quite often will delete them. With such high-profile cases, especially those involving children, we do expect there to be several threads and the expectation that posters will want to discuss the events of each day in court. As such, we're removing speculative posts as well as posting on each thread to ask MNers to consider what they're posting. As we've had to delete several from thread three already, we may take it down completely if this continues.

Thanks to everyone who reported posts today - it's enormously helpful to us.
