Can threads that I hide be made invisible to me, in 'Trending'?

I hide threads when I find the thread title or subject matter, in some cases distressing, in some cases, unbelievable.

Is there any way that threads that a poster chooses to hide, can be hidden from the poster, completely?
Please don't tell me that this will be taken on board, and then proceed to ignore it completely. If it's not doable, so be it.

Hi there Charity, in the meantime switch to the mobile site (if on desktop scroll all the way to the very bottom, you'll find a tiny button named Mobile Site, press that.)
Trending doesn't appear on the mobile site. I don't use the app so don't know about that.

I hope this helps tonight and that HQ can help longer term.

You have to actively press the trending button to view.
Not explaining this well, sorry.

Hi @CharityDingle it looks as though you're all sorted now. Please give us a shout if you need any more help with anything. Flowers

What is the solution on desktop @MNHQ? I always use desktop. So, no it's not all sorted.
As I said in my OP, if it's not doable so be it.

Just please don't brush me off with 'taking this on board' and proceed to ignore. Thank you.

Hi @CharityDingle,

We're very sorry but the trending box is based on algorithms so it will always show the most-viewed threads, regardless of whether or not they've been hidden by individual posters. The only control that we have is to exclude threads if they're particularly sensitive ones.

Sorry that's not the answer you were hoping for.

Thanks Dawn, that makes sense.
