“Check out the updates on the AIBU poll” emails so annoying!

I know there’ll be a way of switching these off…. They are incredibly annoying. I don’t get any other MN emails apart from when someone has tagged me which is useful.
But I get these.
Sometimes I vote in an AIBU poll but I literally never find it helpful to have an email prompt to go back and look at the results. Never. They just succeed in irritating me and reminding myself not to bother voting.

They annoyed me too. So I updated my email preferences and now I don't get them any more. Simple!

When I click it just takes me to the thread, not the results of the aibu.

Change your preferences in “Customise”. Takes 30 seconds. (On my phone you click on the little blue arrow at the top then choose customise from the drop down menu).

To customise email notifications, you need to go to Talk (the purple tab below our logo on the top left) if you click on this, you'll see 'Talk: customise'. Under 'Talk options', right at the bottom, you'll see 'Notify me when others post on threads I'm watching' followed by a tickbox.

Uncheck the tickbox that applies and you should stop receiving bothersome email notifications.

@LilyMumsnet I've started getting these emails. I set it up ages ago so that I don't get notified when people post and it's never been a problem. Just started getting this poll email. I can't find how to stop it. I don't have a purple tab and can't find any talk options.

I also keep getting ads despite premium and have to keep logging out and in again to make them disappear. It was only happening once a month but it's been three times this week.

Have you got access to the desktop site? If so, at the top of any thread you'll find the large word 'Talk' - next to it there's a circle with a down arrow. If you click on the arrow, then click on 'Customise' and scroll down to the end of the page, you'll find the following options:

Notifications feed alert:
Notify me when others post on threads I'm watching:
Notify me when others mention me in a thread:
Notify me when there are updates on AIBU polls:

Just tick or untick each box, as required.

We're sorry that you've been having problems with ads despite being a Premium subscriber. We're aware there's been a slight glitch and we've been answering queries on this thread. We'll hopefully have this sorted very soon!
