Do we not get notifications that threads we're on have been deleted?

I was on a thread earlier today, now it's no longer in my 'watched' or 'I'm on' lists and searching for it by poster brings up nothing. So it must have been deleted I assume?
But I've also had no notifications or anything. I thought we used to get a message as to where/why the thread was no longer there, at least in the I'm on' section.

It will be on your threads I’m on list. Scroll down the list until you see threads from yesterday, it will be just before them. If you can’t see it then you’ve probably hidden it by accident.

If you posted on it it will be on your threads I'm on list. You just need to scroll down a bit, I don't know why but it goes way down the list once it's deleted

I've never had a notification, maybe I have that turned off

@UhtredRagnarson & @BelleBlueBell thanks, but as i said, it's no longer in 'I'm on' it's also not in search if I search for the original op's name or under my name (I've recently nc and so only have a few under new username. I've been on mn for many many years -

No definitely hadn't been hidden.
But...
I've just found out by searching the op's username in safari/google to see it has been deleted due to real life concerns. So at least I know but definitely had no notifications but in the app

Glad you got to the bottom of this OP - in future, do feel free to report any missing threads to us by dropping us an email, and hopefully we will be able to clarify where they've gone!

Yes I'd posted several times.

@LilyMumsnet it was a random google search that found the deletion. Wasn't logged in anywhere.

I'm on the iOS app and does the same for me - disappears from my lists.

Mine has been doing this for months. I did mention it here but MNHQ asked for me to email a screenshot - couldn't do that with disappearing threads

I think when threads get deleted, on your ‘I’m on’ queue they go all the way chronologically to when the original post was started? And then you see a ‘message deleted’ when you click on it. That’s my theory anyway.

Same here on the iOS app. It's very annoying.
