TECH - PARASITE REDIRECTION to another website

Is this site related to mumsnet in anyway?

I've been redirected to that website when accidentaling clicking on the active convos page.

This is very weird.
Happened a few times over last week.
Now just realised it only happens when I log on to mumsnet, on a specific page.

It happens on the active convos page
If you click under the discount banner under boden/cottages 4you.

I'm not exactly computer litterate but this is no coincidence. Happens everytime I repeat the experience and on no other page.

Hi there, this isn't happening when I try it - so I'll get Tech to take a look. Think I'm right in saying that adviva is nothing sinister... I think it might be a way of companies tracking where the click through's they get are coming from. Tch will know for sure though.

Hi there, adviva is an ad-serving company. They do carry some of our ads so if you click an ad space you might get to them if there's no ad in it at that time.

on the next point, the next website does seem to be a bit naughty if you try to link to it with the link set to a new window - it sort of hijacks your other windows. I'm not sure who they think they are, harrumph.

tbh I find it surprising that they would deliberately annoy people in that way - especially as they are about to (hoping to at least) ask for your credit card details when you order - the last thing they should be doing is making your computer act weird and so making you suspicious. All of which makes me think it might just be a mistake on their part. Dunno.

hi 3littlefrogs, that would happen if last time you logged into Mumsnet you set the "remember me" box to yes. If you don't want to be logged in automatically, click "log out" on the right of the blue bar towards the top of the page. That will clear the "memory" and you won't get logged in automatically any more.
