Tech, I keep getting logged out

I can't use the horrible new pagey mumsnet so changed

Now I have to log in each time if am at work as I don't want anyone else to be able to get to my stuff.

However it logs me out randomly in the same session, eg if I click on a link or if I click on an advert, when I come back to mn I am often logged out

it's driving me bonkers!

LOL at JV
I presume you're clicking the "remember me" button Countess?
I don't know very much about anything techy but will shout for His Techiness.

Mercy · 16/11/2007 11:11

This has happened to me a few times too.

SoupDragon · 16/11/2007 11:18

Have you got the "kick me off when I'm meant to be working but clearly aren't" option ticked by mistake?

CountessDracula · 16/11/2007 14:24

No i am not clicking remember me as I don't want to be remembered

I would still expect to stay signed in for the duration of my session though

Hi CD, We've restarted the server a couple of times today. That ends your session and starts a new one (as far as our server knows). If you don't have "remember me" on you'll get logged out, unfortunately. The only way around it is to do the "remember me" and then "log out" when you are done which clears the remember and sets you back to normal. Hope this clarifies what's going on.

CountessDracula · 16/11/2007 15:04

It does
thanks

ok now it really is being odd

I shut down a session having not asked it to remember me. When I opened MN again it was the default horrible new thing. I clicked on a thread and suddenly i was logged in again and saw my nice old mumsnet

argh
