Name changes

When somebody name changes it's the first thing they mention in their post

Why is it relevant? I'm not a paid member, maybe I'm missing something

It makes no difference to me if somebody has name changed or not to make a post. I can't see the relevance in us needing to know

Hello!

It can be for many reasons - emphasis on the fact that despite a NC for privacy reasons, the user is a member and has been for some time prior to the post!

Would be interesting to know more, though. Grin

Usually because if they don't they're likely to get a snarky ''welcome to MN'' response (which sounds friendly but is really code for ''you don't even go here!'' or people thinking they're cleverly troll hunting Grin)
So can see why people announce they've name changed and that they like pom bears and naice ham or whatever lol

Yes, it's so they don't get presumed a new member. Lots of long term users will name change for privacy but want to make clear they are not trolls
