Why is my AIBU thread hidden?

I am disappointed because I thought Mumsnet was an open place for discussion and sharing experience. I set up a thread to discuss levels of harassment other women face as I am curious about that since I never faced it myself. Within minutes the thread was hidden to be reviewed by MN Headquarters and has not been reinstated since. I really don't understand the reasons for that? People discuss much more triggering stuff here such as suicide, DV, hate speech etc compared to every day harassment such as being catcalled. I now feel unwelcome here and probably won't be coming back much.

You're right, it's a wide open site, and anyone can join in.

But MNHQ sets the rules on what content it will host, and I suggest you email them to find out what they didn't like about whatever it was you posted

Ask them? Lots of apparently genuine posts asking for people to share experiences are from trolls looking for wank fodder, for instance, and some genuine posts may get tarred with the same brush.

This is NOT an open and free space to discuss things.

They admins moderators and many users are so utterly obsessed with inauthentic posts or trolls that they inadvertently end up throwing the baby out with the bath water

I don't bother posting threads any more and have cut my use of Mumsnet drastically at just can't be bothered with the over policing of threads

@FuchMyLife I see, I was probably assumed to be a troll by overzealous policing :(. I am going to move on, shame, but my fondess for this forum definitely diminished.

YetAnotherBeckyMumsnet, I do not know whether to take it as a compliment, I have never been taken to be an undercover journalist before . Anyway, I replied back to other posters on the thread now, and hopefully I can learn from other women experience.
