Have the criteria for getting a thread removed?

A while ago I asked to have a thread removed as I felt I had given too much information and was in danger of people in real live realising I was talking about them. I was made to feel like I was asking for the moon on a stick and felt thoroughly told off. I have commented on a thread today which has been deleted the deletion message was 'as not many people had commented on the thread we have agreed to remove it' no explanation as to why the OP wanted it removed, although if I had to guess it was because they weren't getting the responses they wanted. So can you just ask MN to delete your threads willy nilly these days?

Hi OP

We do try and push back on thread deletions - especially those that have lots of contributions. However, our main priority is making parents lives easier. If a thread isn't doing that, we will likely take it down. We're always happy to take another look if you have a thread that's causing you concern. Flowers
