Can we have a quote a quote function?

At the moment, if you click “quote” it copies that post and lets you respond. But if you then want to respond back to that the “quote” button is greyed out and you’re left copying and pasting, highlighting bits in bold and bits in italics.

Can we have the ability to quote more than one reply? Or at least remove the top bit of the quote so you can directly quote the reply below?

I don't think it's a good idea to be able to quote the entire thing, including the original quote as it would get really messy. Being able to quote the post that is quoting would be good though.

(Plus quoting only part of a post although I'm not sure we could be trusted not to misuse that one 😂😂)

Yes to this bit please, but no to that thing you see on some websites where there's quotes within quotes within quotes all in one reply. It makes me feel seasick

I loathe this. Please don't do it!

Yeah agree no quotes within quotes within quotes. But something to make it easier to reply to someone who has quoted someone else without having to dick around with * * and in the right places!
