Threads that go puff

Is there a place to find out what threads disappear or why they disappear? Instead I just search for them for ages before I give up. It's really annoying.

They disappear generally because they are posted by trolls. Once they are gone they are gone. There's a deletion message which will tell you why.

I find they no longer stay in 'I'm on' anymore and do just disappear. Sometimes I am around and see the deletion message on the post but unlike before, once it's gone it's gone.

You can email MNHQ if you really have to know why a thread disappeared.
But you will find that once deleted the thread title will drop right down your 'Threads I'm on' list really quickly but the title will still be there and you can click on it.

This doesn't happen for me anymore, they just go!

So for example, that one today about someone needing support after witnessing a traumatic event - that was a troll?
I can't find it. I commented on it.

Didn’t see it. Sounds like it might have been removed at posters request if it was something traumatic/identifying maybe.

I have noticed this and the only way to see the deletion message is if I have reported a post on the thread then I can go through the link on the email. They used to be on threads I'm on and possibly threads I'm watching.

I was on a useless bloke refusing to leave having been told 'it's over', he even rang police and claimed to be concerned about her mental health!

Disappeared totally. No messages just gone.

I got a deletion notice for that one PicklemyWalnuts it was a troll post from a PBP. I was quite shocked, but people will make up some really weird things on here.

For me the threads gone and it really doesn’t matter why. There’s only a handful of reasons

Troll/PBP
Poster asked for it to be taken down
Turned into a bun fight
It was about the two MMs. Madeleine McCann or Meghan Markle

Best to just move on.

it's just the unsettling, 'something's missing, wait where was...' feeling. I'm perfectly happy (though irritated) now!

Sometimes though a PBP keeps coming back, why is this if they are banned??, there was one and probably still is on the CV threads and I always wanted to know that I had guessed the troll correctly

If you know what to do you can start another account, if reported then MNHQ will take a look and sort it out.

Hey, as folk have mentioned up thread, if a thread's zapped it's generally down to a handful of reasons: troll, privacy concerns, PBP, become a bit of a bunfight - that sort of thing. We do pop the reason for the deletion in the deletion message and if you are wondering what's happened to a thread and you can't find it then do drop us a line and we'll take a look for you.

It does look that for some of you the threads are staying in 'Threads I am on' but for others they are disappearing from there straight away following a deletion. If it's just disappearing for you, could you let us know the device you are on and how you are accessing the site and we can look at what might be happening here
