Zombie threads resurrected by trolls/spammers

Like this one (but there's another one at least-same spammer)

Is there any way the 'old thread' warning can be reapplied after the troll/spammer post is deleted?

There have been loads of these recently. It's very annoying.

Yes, I mean if it was resurrected in good faith (rare admittedly) then fine but MNHQ acknowledge the poster doing the resurrecting is a troll/spammer by deleting them, but the warning's gone and off goes the thread again...

I've often wondered why there isn't a date to indicate when the thread was started. It's all very well seeing when the last post on the thread was made, but that doesn't tell you how old the thread is. It just needs an extra column that shows the 'started on' date, and then people would have an idea if it was likely to be a zombie thread or not. Is that something that's complicated to do with the operating system used on here?

If I am on my laptop in Active there are two columns. The first is who started it and the date/time and the second is who last commented and the date/time.

IIRC I switched this on as an option but can't remember how.

Just checked-it's in Customise and it's a Yes/No answer to this-

Show "Started by" column in thread list:

The first post has a date and time.

Thank you for this suggestion - we can see why this situation is pretty annoying and it's definitely something for us to have a think on. We'll send the idea onwards and upwards. Flowers
