Can’t close pics within a post

Used to be able to close pictures posted in a post by clicking on the X, at the bottom right of said picture.
Today, however, whoever I click on a pic I can’t find the X and therefore can’t close the picture. So annoyingly have to close down the whole thread and go back into it.
Anyone else?

Mine has changed too, the cross is now white and at the top right of the picture.

IllNeverLetGoJack · 25/03/2021 12:33

Yes, I've had this too actually. Thought it was my phone being weird.

SoupDragon · 25/03/2021 12:35

I think if you click somewhere outside of the picture of closes it but you're right, I did think something looked wrong with pictures earlier but didn't think too much of it.

SoupDragon · 25/03/2021 12:36

(Although Ive just looked at a picture and it still has a white cross top right)

ThisMustBeMyDream · 25/03/2021 12:37

Yes, I had this yesterday too.

IllNeverLetGoJack · 25/03/2021 12:38

I found one picture I posted had the cross at the top right, but on another picture posted by someone else had posted, I couldn't see the cross at all and the photo took up most of my screen, so couldn't click on the screen outside the picture 🤔.

OysterMonkey · 25/03/2021 12:44

Yes, @IllNeverLetGoJack that’s exactly the problem I had.
The photos took up the whole screen, there was no X, and I couldn’t click away from the photo.
I’ll see what it’s like today.

Aggghhhhh, it’s doing it again.
@mnhq do you know why?
I was on the skinny jeans thread and couldn’t minimise the pic to get to the X in the top right corner to exit it. So had to come out of the entire thread.

Hi @OysterMonkey if you're still having problems with this, please let us know the version of device and browser that you're using and we'll be happy to investigate. Flowers

OysterMonkey · 25/03/2021 17:40

Thanks @soniamumsnet
I’ll check it out again when I’m next on a thread with a pic.

There's another layout version that sometimes opens when I use MN. The 'x' is top right and a bit harder to see..

BlueDaysTillChristmas · 25/03/2021 17:43

iPhone, chrome here.

OysterMonkey · 25/03/2021 18:05

@soniamumsnet
Still an issue.
iPhone, safari.

Same problem, iPhone safari

Samsung tablet, chrome, and some photos are too large to get to the cross to close - some pictures are fine.

iPhone 7, Safari, sometimes the pics are too tall for my screen & the X is hidden under the nav bar, so I have to either use the Back button or turn the phone to landscape, where the cross becomes visible.

WitchesBritchesPumpkinPants · 29/03/2021 21:55

Sometimes I can close them & sometimes I can't.

It's a much better system though,so it'll be great when the niggles are ironed out!

soniamumsnet · 30/03/2021 10:37

Hi - just dropping in to say thanks for the reports and the screenshot which is really useful. We're taking a look into fixing this now. Flowers

OysterMonkey · 30/03/2021 10:46

@soniamumsnet
It’s doing it again for me too.
Pic attached.
So as before I have to exit the thread I’m on to close the pic.
iPhone, safari.
