I went to name change on my account which I do quite regularly because I am paranoid about privacy. When I went to enter my password it said “This password has appeared in a data leak which puts this account at high risk of compromise’ it then advises me to change my password immediately.
I was logged in on my IPad, and MN always asks for your password details again once you go into your account settings to look at or change anything - I have my details saved so it automatically fills-in my email and password and then asks for Face ID (which never works and then defaults to asking for my passcode for the IPad device) it was at this stage that the dialogue box came up.
Thought I’d report it because I would obviously be hugely concerned if my account had been breached in anyway. I’ve been on MN for over 10 years. My password is entirely unique to this account.
Weirdly I’ve just tried doing the same on my phone and it has gone through fine - I can see by previewing this post that the new user name has been accepted. No prompt reappeared. Has anyone else had this prompt come up? It’s very alarming!
Really need to know if anything is going on. I attach an image of the log-in page (heavily cropped for privacy reasons.)
