Sick of seeing multiple page threads where someone has read only the OP, and responds to only that post despite there having been multiple follow-up posts from the OP clarifying and updating etc.
I realise that the function exists to read all the OP’s posts, but clearly posters don’t utilise it. Perhaps if the thread opened on the OP’s posts at least some posters might read those posts at least, so they didn’t chime in 20 pages later with a stupid response which no longer actually has anything to do with the thread.
Sometimes threads can even be sensitive in nature, and so someone chiming in to answer only the OP is clearly not appropriate.
And I’m aware that MN HQ know that’s the case because on a recent thread where an OP was worried about her child there was a posting at the top of the thread reminding people to read the OP’s posts before commenting, and that was because sadly the OP’s child had died.
So perhaps if not able to open on the OP’s posts you could put such a reminder at the top of all threads?
