Titles/threads containing murder/rape

Is it possible to prevent titles or threads containing murder from being posted with the words murder/rape in them, or stop them being posted without trigger warnings or stop them being shown in the active threads list?

I'm sorry. My husband suffered through a partner's rape and murder and it has affected our whole lives together. I don't want to see threads about it. I try to hide as many as I can but that actually involves clicking on the thread to open it, in order to get to the drop down to hide it. Plus there was one recently that was just a name, and when I clicked on it it was about a murderer dying without giving details as to what happened to the victim's family.

It's more triggering for me than I ever thought it would be. Is it possible to change this somehow? There seem to be so many.

Also, if there's a way to hide whole boards, I'd someone could let me know if appreciate it.

Thank you. Sorry, this is probably too tricky to manage. But I'm feeling affected by it right now, just looking at the active threads list is awful.

I agree. Posters are posting murder and rape all willy-nilly on thread titles, even the lighthearted ones that aren't actually about murder (eg: aibu to want to murder my dp right now).

I think these words shouldn't be posted on titles but just always include trigger warnings. Then post as you wish in the OP.

To hide a board, there's a link in this thread. It wil take you to where you can exclude or include your chosen boards.

If you're using a mobile browser, the link will say you can only use that page on the desktop. Just click 'desktop site/show desktop site' on your phone and the page will show.

The problem with posting trigger warning in the title, but no clue as to what its a trigger warning for mean I never know of its "safe" for me to click or not. Which makes it tricky as I totally understand your point (although there's a certain irony in posting a title containing the words you don't think should be allowed). But also think if it says "trigger warning" with no indication about its content then I don't know if its details of a violent crime, or a picture of a massive spider. Both of which could be triggering for someone.

So if you create a thread which contains a trigger you should be able to tick from a list of common triggers and users should be able to hide threads from whichever topics on that list they select.

Technically possible?

Yes, I see the irony now! I wasn't really thinking properly last night so it just came out as a big ramble, title included.
