Hiding covid threads in most active/trending

For those of us who are trying to avoid covid posts as much as possible.
The threads in active on the desktop or trending on the mobile don't say where they are from so you don't know if you are clicking on a covid thread until you open it.
So could you either remove the covid topic from active/trending, label them so we know what we are clicking on, or have a hide ability.

Hi OP

Thanks for getting in touch about this.

The trending box isn't something we can edit.
We do move threads over to the covid topic when necessary, but as it stands, covid is such an enormous part of everyone's lives at the moment, we simply can't commit to moving all threads that touch on this.

You can hide threads as and when you click on them - we know this isn't what you're wanting to hear, but until things quieten down then it's likely to continue to be a regularly discussed topic on site.

I think it should be possible from a technical point of view to set up active/trending to omit threads from boards that a user has hidden.

Either then by filling up from the next one in the list (preferably), or by just providing a shorter list (which runs the risk of the list eventually displayed being empty).

Strikes me it should be a relatively straightforward 'if' statement.

Hi @TeenPlusTwenties thanks for the suggestion which we'll certainly bear in mind for any future changes. Flowers
