Please get rid of the notification alert.

It serves no purpose. I turned off the emails as it was ridiculous getting pinged every time. I don't want it on my screen either. I would hate to miss a potential PM I may get because it is lost in amongst the notifications. It is horrible. Please get rid of it for those that don't want it.

Mine's had 9+ on it since forever, I've sort of forgotten about it now.

You can get rid of it can't you? I can't remember how but mine is turned off.

I like it - I am on a very long running thread where we only post occasionally. It's nice to know when someone has added.

All mine are off. I don’t like emails from mn!

I am not talking about the emails. I'm talking about the thing that used to be to notify one of a PM.

Oh yeh you can turn that off too

if you get a PM it comes up as a separate blue circle (laptop).

In addition to what Sparkling said, you can set up to get an email when you receive a PM.

I don't want any notification emails for mentions or PMs. I want a bell for the PM as before and nothing for mentions. Thanks.

Once the number hits 9+, it just stay there as 9+, so instead of clicking, if you leave it, it won't do anything. And PM notification is different, so you will never get confused.

You do notice the PM notification as it's blue.

See that's it. I haven't had a PM since the notification started .

I miss my mate from years ago. We were forever sending PMs .
