Is there a way to hide topics on the mobile site?

I've just seen the thread about no longer being able to switch to the desktop site on a smart phone (from Aug 2020).

I want to hide certain topics but can't find a way to do this on the mobile site, I know you used to have to switch to the desktop to be able to do this. Any ideas of how to hide topics now? Thanks!

@LilyMumsnet this is the message I get if I try the link, and there doesn't seem to be a way to get to the desktop site (although I could well have just missed it!) have tried logging in etc but still no option to hide topics?

I get the same message as @sycamorescrumptious. I'm looking for a way to do it on the mobile site

We're really sorry but the only way to action this would be to do it on a desktop device. It's something we're looking at changing in the future but for now, there isn't any way around it.

In my Silk browser, if you go into settings there is a desktop site thingy. Clicking on that changes the mobile site to the desktop site.

I believe the worst thing that was done, was removing the ability to go from one sight to the other at the bottom of the page, without a) bringing in an alternative first and b) not letting anyone how to do it.

That's a bit rubbish if I'm honest though! I don't have a computer to access the desktop site so only use my mobile and it's becoming harder to avoid the bereavement and covid topics on active with everything going on at the moment, but I really need to for my own sake, hence wanting to hide them.

Never mind, will force me to waste less time on Mumsnet I guess so probably a good thing

@FirstPost99, you can access MN desktop from a mobile! Dont go in through the app, go in from chrome.

If you're on an Apple device you can switch in this menu, just tap the 2 A's in the menu bar.

@OddsNSodsBitsNBobs I don't use the app, I'm on Chrome but mumsnet.com just gives me the mobile site. You used to be able to click "switch to desktop" right at the very bottom of the page but mumsnet have removed it.

Unfortunately not on Apple @ViperAtTheGatesOfDawn but I'll see if there is an equivalent on Android, thank you.
