Last night during the mn outage I used the wayback machine to look at archived snapshots of mn 20 years ago when it was just a teeny tiny baby. It was pretty interesting. Grin

Slightly scary to think that the teens then are in their mid-late 30s now though. Confused

Blimey, @OhYouBadBadKitten, that's a blast from the past!

Those pages are from waaaay back - August 2001, when I had a couple of fairly tiny babies of my own. They're both strapping lads of 6 foot 3 by now. Where did all the years go? Shock

OhYouBadBadKitten · 16/01/2021 22:52

dd was just toddling about then. It's funny to see how they have both grown Wink

The funny things there’s at least one topic that’s still debated and fairly reliving to today!

Holidays - what are they! £750 what’s that in today’s money?!?! Seems like a lot even for now so for them?

The lack of topics in the decisions

The Bank of England calculator is always a little behind so can't update 20 years ago to now precisely as the current inflation rate is only estimated, but to compensate I backdated it to 1999 to 2019 (latest date available) and apparently £750 is approximately £1300 now.

That said there is a big debate about whether inflation figures really reflect the cost of living following the move to CPI so it's still a subjective measure and the "real value" of £750 back then was - arguably - more.

Oh blimey. My DC were 2 and 4 when I joined (may even have been 1 and 3). I discovered Mini Boden at around the same time. They're now 17 and 19.

This has reminded me: what happened to the Charlie's Angels type logo thing?

OhYouBadBadKitten · 22/01/2021 17:44

oh! I hadn't noticed it had gone!

I joined in December 2004. My ds was 4 and did was 6 months. That went quickly.
