Woodpops - I'm here!

Have been at Center Parcs for the half-term week with little ones. Just catching up!

How are you?

I'm going to be in so much trouble tomorrow at my weigh in as ate rather a lot this week and put on 2lbs!!

Oh well I enjoyed it

nutcracker · 23/10/2004 20:53

OOOh you are here.

Did you get my email ?????

I got the clothes they are fab thanks, just what i needed. Dd1 was most impressed with the conker she found in the pocket of the purple skirt

How much do i owe you for p&p ??? I realised after i'd chucked it out that it would have told me on the parcel

woodpops · 23/10/2004 20:55

Missed you. Just wanted to say thank you so much for the Alton Towers tickets. We had a fab day. Ds and dd loved it.

Which cp have you been to??? We're off to Sherwood cp in Jan. It's only a 20 minute drive from us!!!

Is it strange eating after so long?? I've done 27lb now in 4 weeks. Had a really bad week this week as the fool that I am didn't drink enough water. In fact nowhere near enough water so I was terribly constipated. That'll teach me. Won't be doing that one again!!!!

soapbox · 23/10/2004 20:56

Nutty - don't want anything for the postage

Just glad you liked the stuff!

Hmmm - the conker could well have been there for a while! Don't think DD has worn it this year...

nutcracker · 23/10/2004 20:57

Are you sure ?? That is very kind of you

soapbox · 23/10/2004 21:02

Glad you enjoyed Alton Towers. I think our two were just a little bit too young and the queues a bit too long the day we went. Will take them back in a couple of years time. Chessington is much easier for them at the moment and a lot nearer to home.

We went to Elvedon. Haven't been to that one for many years but we really liked it. It was a freebie week to make up for our disaster at Oasis at Christmas. So it was especially nice since we weren;t paying

I'm exhasted though - we were on the go from morning to night really packed things in. Had a couple of really nice massages though and a nice session at the Aqua Sana with DH which the kids were in the childrens club.

Was a bit strange eating - and drinking too - the wine went straight to my head

You are doing so well - you must already look soooo different

EvesMama · 23/10/2004 21:06

hi soapbox, sorry to but in..bbut what happend at oasis?
we went recently and all got food poisening?

woodpops · 23/10/2004 21:09

The Tweenies show was fab. Just like watching them on TV. For some reason I got all emotional and tears were streaming down my face. Bella crouched down and belw kisses to dd and ds got a cuddle from Milo and fizz. We were really lucky, no rain all day and no queues for any ride. Ds even went on the log flume.

What happened at Oasis at Xmas?? We had a terrible holiday at Oasis last year. Hated every minute of it. We went for a full week so when Monday came and all the cars were loading up to go I felt really jelous!!!!!

God, I think I'd be sloshed on a sniff of wine. At the minute I can't imagine eating again.

Everyone is commenting on how different I look. Apparently I've lost alot on my face. I can even feel bones on my hips. I forgot I had bones there, I've not felt them for so long.

EvesMama - 'twas a disaster from beginning to end...

Our executive villa was falling apart - sofas broken foam exposed on teh arms - rusty radiators, insects in all the light fittings, badly scuffed paint etc.

The swimming pool heat system broke down and pool was shut for a day, but even when it opening the heat never went back to anything above freezing. Went to Spa and outdoor pool closed, went to Chinese restaurant and half the menu off because deep fat fryer broken, went to ten pin bowling and didn;t get to play 'cos three lanes out of order and so on...

Turned into an endurance rather than a holiday. They handled it badly to begin with but then I threw the strop of all strops and demanded to see the site manager and really let rip. So we got a free week out of it.

If you got food poisoning then I would defo push for some kind of valuable recompense

ChicPea · 23/10/2004 21:12

Woodpops, where did you see the Tweenies?

woodpops · 23/10/2004 21:23

Chicpea, Alton Towers. They do 2 shows a day and I'd really reccomend them. I thought it was just going to be a naff immitation but it was the 'real' Tweenies. Got some great piccies of ds with Milo. I'm going to get them printed on a t shirt for him.

Soapbox, sounds like we had the same executive (my arse) villa. Scruffy or what?? We'd ordered 2 highchairs and stair gates when we booked and we even rang the day before we went to make sure there were going to be 2 of each. It took us till ½ way through the holiday to get them. The daily cleaners were a waste of space. The only good thing about the place were the medical staff. A child pushed ds out of the softplay area in the Country Club and the noise that came from ds head when he cracked it on the floor was sickening. To top it all ds immediatly started vomiting everywhere so as you can imagine I paniced. The staff at the medical centre were fab and after they'd released ds they rang the villa every 2 hours for the rest of the day to check he was ok and even popped round again the following morning.

god soapy tta sounds shite
would reinforce dhs determination never to go !

woodpops · 23/10/2004 21:29

CC, It's just Oasis that's hell on earth. We've had some fab holidays at Elveden and Sherwood Center Parcs.

OP posts:
ChicPea · 23/10/2004 21:33

Woodpops, thanks for that. Are the Tweenies there permanently and if so are they the real ones? And if its just this season, how old do children have to be to really enjoy them. My children age 2 and 1 love them and can't take their eyes away from the TV screen.

woodpops · 23/10/2004 21:38

I'd have thought they'd be there next year as well but don't quote me on that. There's a whole Tweenies Street playing Tweenies songs one after the other. It would drive you screwie if you worked there. Ds is 3 and dd is nearly 2 and they both loved it. And yes it was the real Tweenies. Just like watching them on TV. I'd go back again just to see the Tweenies.

THe Tweenies are appearing at the Arena here in Nott'm next may and it's £25 each, no consessions for kids. You pay £25 to get into Alton Towers, get to see the Tweenies and have a fab day out. I must admit though there wasn't an awful lot for dd to do but next year she will really love it!!!

OP posts:
ChicPea · 23/10/2004 21:49

Thanks for that Woodpops. Shall probably organise a day to Alton Towers in the Spring when children are 6mths older. Shall start googling Tweenies...never thought my life would come to this!!

woodpops · 23/10/2004 21:52

Chickpea, are you near Nott'm to come to the Arena??

OP posts:
ChicPea · 23/10/2004 21:54

Woodpops, I am in North West London.

woodpops · 23/10/2004 22:01

Ooh, a bit of a treck. I'm sure they'll be doing somewhere in London. I know they're doing the NEC as well. I used to get excited when Oasis and the likes came to Notts now I get excited about the Tweenies. What's my life coming to????

OP posts:
ChicPea · 23/10/2004 22:10

Woodpops, you are getting involved in your childrens' excitement for innocent TV characters which can only be a good thing. Long may they enjoy it!

woodpops · 23/10/2004 22:25

Here, here

EvesMama · 23/10/2004 23:11

soapbox - said something when there, but just as we were leaving and was told would have to go to their gp and be checked over! my s.i.l, b.i.l and niece all left 2 days early(niece bad for over a week- 13months old)only one that was ok was my dd and only place she never eat in was lakeside inn!!!
dont think they'd do anything now?

woodpops · 25/10/2004 08:28

I'd have thought they probably would. Write a stinking letter to complain. I pressume your niece was taken to her own gp. So you'll have that to fall back on. I wouldn't stop until I'd got a satisfactory result out of them.

OP posts:
golds · 25/10/2004 08:54

Soapbox - thank you again for my ticket to AT, we had a fab day, acted totally like children for the day and went on all the big rides.

Nemesis, blackhole, Air and Oblivion (yes the one I said I wouldn't go on) Thanks

woodpops · 25/10/2004 09:15

Was it busy Golds???
