thanks edam I don't know either.

I know that you can cut and paste but how do you get those coloured links that are just one word in a different colour and are underlined.

someone please tell us in VERY simple language?

tech2 · 22/10/2004 11:40

good idea, will put it forward to The Powers That Be

KangaMummy, there are instructions for creating links to the right of the Add a Message box

charliecat · 22/10/2004 11:49

To insert a link to a web site, type
description - where url is the .... address of the site, and description is the text you want to appear in your message. So to link to bbc news you could type
have a look at this

charliecat · 22/10/2004 11:51

Oh No! I copied and pasted that.What you do is:

\link{
the webite you want\
then the words you would like to be the link like have a look here}

charliecat · 22/10/2004 11:52

but all in a long sentence, I had to space it out so it didnt turn into a link.

KangaMummy · 22/10/2004 12:10

OK I have failed what have I done wrong

sorry edam I have taken up so much space on your thread I am sorry

KangaMummy · 22/10/2004 12:12

robbiewilliams

edam · 22/10/2004 12:13

Don't apologise, it's fine!
I can follow the instructions to create links (usually) because they are there next to add message but they don't seem to be there next to create conversation and my memory isn't good enough to hang onto them from other pages...

OP posts:
KangaMummy · 22/10/2004 12:14

thanks I have done it sort of but I am going to leave edams thread alone as I have been very rude to her taking up so much space.

Hi OP

The instructions for adding links should be just under the box to write your post (next to emojis).

What device and browser are you using?

senbei · 21/04/2019 11:49

What's in that picture will give you something like this:

Mumsnet
