I can't join Mumsnet Local......Why?

I want to enter competitions, but when I try I have to join MN local.
I put in my postcode, select the appropriate area and click sign me up, and get taken back to the page to put my postcode in. Anything I do after that results in a message saying "incomplete field"

Any idea what is going wrong?
