Could you make it easier to hide whole topics? and threads?

I know I could look up how to hide a topic, but as I recall it's quite a convoluted process.

Would it be possible to make it so that someone could just hide a topic in one click?

So, for example, I'd like to hide the Conception topic.

At the moment, if I see a Conception thread in Active Conversations I can click on it and comment on it, or I can start a new thread in that topic, but I can't hide the topic.

Could you include a new easier option to hide or leave a particular topic?

And while we're here grin can we go back to the times when you could hide a thread with just one click in Active Convos without having to open it first?

I too would find this useful. One topic in particular pops up on 'active' regularly and I'd rather not see it

I don't want to see Christmas threads now so how can I hide them without spending ages on working out how to do it?

I would like to see them from maybe 1st Decemberish onwards, so how could I unhide them in 1 or 2 clicks and get them coming up in my Active Convos again?

In summary, HQ, how can you make Customise a bit simpler and more intuitive for people?

Chichi 😄 the threads seem to start earlier each summer.

I can hide individual threads without opening. I’m using safari. But I really would like to be able to hide pregnancy. I can’t see a “Due March 2021” thread without feeling sick.

You can hide threads but not whole topics.

I can hide threads without opening them. And watch them without opening them.

And you can hide whole topics @Abraid2 as I have several hidden. Happily so.

Please tell me how to hide a topic! 🙂

There used to be a button next to every thread where you could hide it by a single click without having to click into it. This option randomly disappeared and when I asked about it, MNHQ claimed to not know what I was talking about.

They dropped it to make way for the "quote" function, I think.

No, it was gone long before the all-singin' all-dancin' quote function.

@Abraid2 I had to do it on the desktop version of the site. It was fiddly. Googled for the instructions.

You can switch on the thing that lets you hide threads from active without opening them by ticking a box in customise. It’s not clear or intuitive but at least possible.

It’d be great if it was easy to hide and unhide whole topics more easily. Totally agree.

Thanks so much for this - I'm passing over to tech as feedback. We're keen to make the whole MN experience friendlier and easier to navigate.

Any progress on this? There's a topic with loads of threads in Active Conversations right now that I'd like to hide because it's not relevant to me.

They said to give a nudge in a couple of weeks.

I'd go as far as suggesting hiding threads with certain words. For example i do not want to come across aby threads on child abuse that could be posted in 90 days, 30 days, iabu (yes!), relationships, chat or any other sub. There isnt always a trigger warning. It would be good to hide or fipter out certain words.

Maybe a tick box visible on site, app and mobile version whether your comment or thread has sensitive contents if yes its automatically minimised and its up to theperson to either maximise them to open and read or have a setting to hide all marked as sensitive contents Sometimes a totally inocuos thread title, click on it and read harrowing heavy emotionally ladden stuff that should be disclosed to police or therapists.
