I’m using Safari on iPad if that makes any difference.

Accidentally logged out of site and now Mumsnet looks that the olden days with no bookmark function etc.

I can bookmark just can’t add the icon.

I don't know as I'm on MN Classic that doesn't have the bookmark option at all.

Did you use to use the mobile site though - it's fixed to desktop on an iPad now so that might explain why it looks different?

Yes I am on iPad too we are not allowed to use the mobile site
