Can't post and sometimes links to threads don't work

Has anyone else noticed this today? I have tried to post 2 or 3 times and it just won't. I bet it won't post this either.

Then I click on a link and it comes up with the message Bad request - it also does this if I try to add a thread to my Watch list.

I am on a laptop and on Chrome.

Now to see if this will post!

Hi there OP, so it seems you can post now, but if you continue to experience difficulties, please do email at [email protected] and we can look into it for you.

I started this thread yesterday, but then I couldn't post on it later - I'll see if this works.

Yes I have found this too!

Since yesterday morning any link I click from active threads gives me '400 bad request'. If I open the link in an incognito tab it works.

I'm using the mobile site, logged in, on chrome, android phone

bizzieb33 · 16/08/2020 10:54

Same here, I can read first page but then when I click for the next I get the 'bad request' message.

Hi OP

Can you try a different browser such as IE or firefox, so that we can determine whether the issue is browser related?

bizzieb33 · 16/08/2020 14:24

I should have a laptop screen shot?

OK so I tried Edge with no luck. Then I disabled my adblocker and tried Chrome and Edge again with no luck. I am posting this from Firefox (still no adblocker).

Hi again, @iwantmyownicecreamvan,

Sorry you're still having problems posting on the site.

Can we please ask you to try clearing your cache? We've had a few other Mumsnetters mail in with a similar problem, and this seems to have solved the issue in most cases.

There are instructions here, if you need them - clearing cache on Chrome.

Please let us know how you get on - if you're still seeing these 400/404 error messages, we'll get our Tech team to take a closer look.

DawnMumsnet · 17/08/2020 13:48

@bizzieb33 and @CurlsLDN - if you're able to try this too, please let us know if it works.

Thanks in advance - and sorry again for all the faff.

iwantmyownicecreamvan · 17/08/2020 15:13

Ok I did that. I then had to close down and re-open Chrome but it let me open this thread - and hopefully post.

OK I have opened several threads now and posted here and on another thread so I think clearing the cache must have worked - thanks! Smile

Ah, brilliant. Thanks for letting us know! Smile

bizzieb33 · 17/08/2020 19:50

Same here, thanks xx

Jux · 01/09/2020 12:27

I am having this problem now, and I shall clear my cache - but I had to clear my cache very recently and it was PITA having to then log in and do the cookies thing etc on a lot of sites, not just this one.

Is this something we are going to have to do regularly? (and my desktop button has gone too.....)

soniamumsnet · 01/09/2020 16:25

Hi @Jux sorry to hear you've had issues. This certainly shouldn't happen regularly. Give us a shout if you're still having any problems. Flowers

Jux · 01/09/2020 22:20

Thank you, soniamumsnet. It's OK now.

soniamumsnet · 02/09/2020 09:32

That's good to hear @Jux Smile
