How do you delete a post off here

I asked for advice but am getting unwanted cruel comments which I could do without at the moment

The OP's deregistered her account by now and we've removed her original thread.

We don't always delete threads when requested - usually we'll try to find other solutions first (such as a retrospective name change, or moving the thread to a quieter area of the site) - because we know how annoying it can be for people who have taken the time to respond. On this occasion, as the OP won't be returning to her thread, we've agreed to remove it.
